SCRC
Eusoff Hall is administered by a Master who is appointed by the University. The Master is assisted by both resident and non-resident Fellows and together they form the Senior Common Room Committee (SCRC). The Fellows work closely with the Master in matters of discipline and internal administration of the Hall.
There are 5 Resident Fellows who function as advisors, mentors, disciplinarian and counselors to the Hall's residents. Residents are encouraged to approach them with any problems they may have.

Dr. Lynette Tan Yuen Ling has been teaching at university for over 20 years both in the UK and locally, where she is at present Senior Lecturer at the National University of Singapore (NUS). She is the Director of External Programmes at Residential College 4 (RC4) and Fellow of the NUS Teaching Academy. Her bachelor's degree was obtained at NUS, where she was also a resident at Eusoff Hall for all her undergraduate years. In her teaching, Lynette navigates the potential of systems thinking in intersection with film as well as community engagement. Her courses explore the philosophies and work of the systems pioneers and empower students to be humane change agents as they navigate global issues that are critical in the 21st Century. Lynette's other teaching and research interests include AI and technology in education, Hollywood and Singapore Cinema, Gender Studies, and Post-colonial Studies. In recognition for excellence in teaching, Lynette won multiple teaching awards at the university level and has been placed on both the ATEA (Annual Teaching Excellence Award) and RCTEA (Residential Colleges Teaching Excellence Award) honour rolls at NUS. Lynette is also a published author and poet, for both adult and child audiences. She has been featured at major literary festivals both overseas and locally and also appeared in leading magazines in Singapore. Her children's books were awarded grants by the Media Development Authority of Singapore and the National Arts Council for their contributions to literacy. She was also a curator for the Singapore Film Festival. Lynette lives at Eusoff Hall with her husband Fraser and her three children Lilian (studying overseas), Callum and Cori. |

Ms Sophie is a social worker practitioner-educator-researcher, specializing in serving the mental health population. Since joining the Social Work Department as an instructor in 2023, Ms Sophie has been contributing to the education of the future generations of social workers, focusing on teaching health related topics and practical skills. Ms Sophie is also a field education co-ordinator for postgraduate students and an academic advisor (social work) for Neighbourhood Health Services, Kids. Ms Sophie is also involved in several mental health related research projects. Other than her work as an educator and researcher at the National University of Singapore, Ms Sophie also provides psychotherapy at Mandala Psychology and Wellness. In addition, Ms Sophie also volunteers with several agencies including the Singapore Association of Social Workers and Lakeside Family Centre. Prior to becoming a full-time educator, Ms Sophie practiced social work mainly in Singhealth's acute hospitals as a Medical Social Worker, focusing on crisis interventions and mental health. Ms Sophie is a proud graduate from the National University of Singapore where she received training to become a social worker. She also received her Masters in Social Work at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis, with a concentration in clinical mental health and specialization in System Dynamics. In her free time, she loves to read, eat, drink coffee, listen to podcasts and do any music related activities. |

Rungnapa Kitiarsa is a dedicated full-time lecturer of the Thai language at the Centre for Language Studies (CLS), Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore since 2013. With a rich academic background, she holds two professional master's degrees: an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) from the University of Washington, Seattle, U.S.A (1999), and an M.Sc. in Social Development from Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City, the Philippines (1992). Before joining the Thai Language Program at CLS as a part-time instructor in early 2005, she served as a lecturer at the School of English, Institute of Social Technology, Suranaree University of Technology, Nakhon Ratchasima, Northeastern Thailand (1999-2004). Rungnapa also gained valuable experience teaching Thai as a Foreign Language at the Department of Asian Languages and Literature, University of Washington, during 1997-1999 while pursuing her M.A. degree. Rungnapa is an adept language teacher/instructor, specializing in teaching both English and Thai as foreign languages to college students from diverse national and ethnocultural backgrounds. Beyond her professional commitments, she finds joy in cooking, exercising, and dedicating her free time to volunteer work for the Thai migrant workers' group at Golden Mile, where she has served as the Group's advisor since 2013. She currently resides at Eusoff Hall with her son, Tantham. |

Associate Professor Khoo Eng Tat is a dynamic educator within the Innovation and Design Programme (iDP) at the College of Design and Engineering. As the head of the Immersive Reality Lab, he orchestrates interdisciplinary collaborations, bridging students from various academic backgrounds to innovate solutions using cutting-edge technologies like Virtual/Mixed Reality (VR/MR) and generative AI. His pioneering work extends to developing lifelike simulations and AI-driven human models tailored for training medical students, physicians, and pilots, revolutionizing education and professional development in these fields. Furthermore, through the Ideas to Startup FYP, he empowers students to translate their inventions into viable commercial ventures. Outside academia, A/Prof Khoo is deeply involved in the startup ecosystem, serving as a mentor at IMDA Pixel and as a founding member of the Holomedicine Association. His creative spirit is further demonstrated through his association with esteemed art collectives such as Singapore TheatreWorks and Design and Performance Lab, Brunel University London. A proud alumnus of the National University of Singapore (NUS), A/Prof Khoo holds both a BEng and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Mr. Tan Sie Wee serves as the Head of the Multimedia Team at the Centre for Instructional Technology. A proud graduate of the National University of Singapore (NUS), he attained his undergraduate degree and pursued Lean Six Sigma certification, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in both academia and professional development. Dedicated to fostering cultural exchange and continuous learning, Mr. Tan was awarded a prestigious scholarship from ERASMUS+ to Sorbonne University, France. This experience not only enriched his understanding but also honed his skills in instructional technology. Mr. Tan's achievements extend beyond academia, with notable recognitions including a gold award at the Learning Institution Quality Conference (LIQC) and a second runner-up position in the "Can't Live Without Tech!" contest, jointly organized by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the IDM chapter of the Singapore Computer Society (SCS). Furthermore, his expertise was acknowledged when he served as a judge for Picture Singapore in 2014. Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Tan finds joy in diverse interests, including reading, traveling, playing badminton and guitar, and most importantly, spending quality time with his beloved wife and son, Yun Yun and Owen. |

Joel is a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist, specializing in voice, whose journey in the field has been marked by a commitment to clinical excellence and academic enrichment. Since joining The Speech-Language Pathology Programme at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2016, he has made significant contributions to both clinical practice and education. During his tenure at Singapore General Hospital, Joel played a pivotal role in various clinical domains, including swallowing, voice, and language and speech rehabilitation. His extensive experience in clinical education underscores his passion for nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals. Joel's research endeavors are centered around the auditory-perceptual evaluation of voice and the prevention of dysphonia, reflecting his commitment to advancing the understanding and treatment of voice disorders. Beyond academia, Joel's enthusiasm for voice has opened doors to unique opportunities, such as voiceover work and speaking engagements on voice health, including participation in the Voices Festival at the Esplanade. Driven by a philosophy encapsulated in his favorite quote, "Be interested, not interesting," Joel thrives on meaningful conversations and the exchange of ideas across diverse topics. At home in Eusoff, he cherishes precious moments with his vibrant family - his wife, Wendy, who homeschools their daughters, Emma Grace and Erin Hope, adding lively energy to their household. Mrs Elsie Foh is an Alumnus of NUS as well as a Eusoff Alumnus. She is one of our longest serving Non-Resident Fellows. She was a member of the group of past Eusoffians who founded the Eusoff Alumni and she also initiated the first Eusoff Alumni credit-cum-membership card programme. Mrs Foh was a career banker for more than 30 years and sat on the boards of various companies including those engaged in asset management, insurance and finance. She was a founding President of the Financial Planning Association of Singapore and also a past Chairman of NETS. Prior to her retirement, she was a Managing Director at DBS Bank. She also worked in SMU as director, special projects before leaving to spend more time with her family. Mrs Foh is currently a Board Director of the Financial Industry Dispute Resolution Centre, the Tsao Foundation and Singapore Heart Foundation. |

Mr Francis Xavier served as President of the Eusoff College JCRC from 1986 to 1987, and graduated from the NUS Law Faculty with his LLB (Honours) in 1988. A distinguished debater, he has participated as a member of the NUS debating team in the SBC Tertiary Debate Series, Australasian Debating Series and the International Varsity Challenge Series. As a member of the NUS Law Moot Team, he participated in the Philip C Jessup International Moot Court Competition in 1988. His team emerged World Runners-Up. He is presently Regional Head, Disputes Practices at Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP. |

Dr Robert Goh is a motivational speaker where he relates his passion in mountaineering (www.29000ft.net) to inspire one's aspirations in career and life. In 1990, Robert obtained his degree in Aeronautical Engineering (Hon, 1st Class) from Imperial College London, UK and subsequently continued his PhD in aerodynamics in the same College where he was supported by a scholarship. He returned to Singapore in 1993. With a passion in aerodynamics, he joined DSO National Laboratories as a researcher in aerodynamics in the field of aircraft, unmanned vehicles, weapon systems and testing facilities. He worked in DSO for 13 years. In 1999, he was awarded the NSMAN of the year Award by the Ministry of Defence. In his spare time, he has climbed Everest (8850m), Cho Oyu (8201m) and Xixabangma (8012m) without supplementary oxygen. He has also skied 1100km to the South Pole, Antarctica in 2000. In 2001, Robert and his team also started a student mountaineering programme in NUS called "Make it Real" (MIR) to initiate youths to high altitude Himalayan mountaineering. In 2005, he led a team of directors in the successful National University of Singapore Centennial Everest Expedition and directed the first Singapore Women Everest Team for the first 2 years. Robert is an experienced and engaging speaker in various topics and has written a book Xixabangma, An Alpine Ascent of the North Ridge. |

Mrs Tan Suan Imm is a retired school principal, married to a private medical practitioner. On her retirement in 1995 after 33 years in the Education Service, she did a short stint in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Deputy Chief of Protocol. She served for many years as an honorary Counsellor in the Social Development Unit, Ministry of Community Development, was an Honorary Fellow of Victoria Hall of residence, Victoria School and a Deputy Registrar of Marriages. She was a member of the NUS Alumni Advisory Board 2012-2015 and was conferred the NUS Distinguished Alumni Service Award in 2009 and the FASS Inaugural Distinguished Arts and Social Sciences Award in 2015. Today she remains active in and happily-engaged with the National University of Singapore's Office of Alumni Relations and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Financial Aid and Bursary Committee. She works out regularly in the gym to keep fit, travels, romances the computer, plays gin rummy weekly with her Eusoff College alumni and enjoys being a doting grandmother to her 4 grandchildren ages from 14 to 24. |

Ms Lim Bee Lum is no stranger to Eusoffians as she has served as the longest Resident Fellow from 1972-2000. She is currently a non-resident fellow of Eusoff Hall. She is closely associated with the NUS Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society where she serves on the Board of Directors. Her other activities include serving on the committee of the Senior Circle of the National University of Singapore Society. She is serving on the sub-committee of the S-Connect of NUSS and serves on the Board of Singapore Association of Continuing Education. In recognition of her services to the cooperative movement, she was conferred the Commendation Medal by the Singapore National Cooperatives Federation. Over and above her many activities, she still finds time to travel and go round shooting with her camera. She is indeed an avid traveller and keen photographer. |

Gregory was appointed Senior Counsel in 2019.He has considerable experience and expertise in various spheres of civil and commercial litigation and arbitration and dispute resolution. He is a well-known expert in commercial insolvency over the years and also a recognized expert in charities governance. He has also been appointed as Singapore International Mediation Centre Mediator ("SIMC") since January 2020 and presently also serves on the Board of SIMC. Gregory graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1992 with an LLB (Hons) and was one of the main speakers in the university's mooting team in 1992 emerging world runners-up at the 1992 Jessup International Law Moot Competition in Washington D.C. Gregory was thereafter admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1993 and joined Rajah & Tann LLP after being in practice in two other leading law firms for 15 years (jointly heading the Banking and Insolvency Litigation Practice group of another leading law firm Among others things, he has been judicially commended by the Supreme Court in reported judgments for "meticulous professionalism", "demonstrating what it is (and ought to be) like to practice the law in its best (indeed, its highest) tradition." and being "valiant". Gregory is the longest serving President of the Law Society in the history of the Society from 2017 to 2021. For that tenure, he concurrently served as Vice President on the Executive Board of Singapore Academy of Law. He is presently a member of its Audit Committee. He served for close to a decade as Law Society Publication Committee Chairman from 2005 to 2014. He has previously served in various capacities in the legal profession including on the Inquiry Panel of the Law Society of Singapore, as Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Insolvency and Practitioners' Association of Singapore ("IPAS"). He was inaugural Subject Coordinator for the Part B Elective on Wills, Probate and Administrations (appointed Senior Teaching Fellow) of the Singapore Institute of Legal Education ("SILE"). He is presently serving as Vice President of the Asia Pacific Institute of Expert Witnesses. He has conducted nationwide and professional wide seminars and counts as his personal teaching highlights being part of Summer School Faculty in Handong International Law School (teaching International Business Transactions in 2008 and 2009), a lecturer on company law developments to the ACCA Annual Conferences for several years and lecturing for the LKY School of Public Policy in 2014 on Non Profit Management for the 21st Century. He served as Deputy President of the Tribunal for Maintenance of Parents (receiving a Long Service Award in January 2022) and middle of this year, completed his term as President of the Tribunal for Maintenance of Parents (receiving an Outstanding Volunteer Award). He serves as Deputy Chair of the Bioethics Advisory Committee (receiving a Long Service Award in November 2016). He also serves as Honorary General Secretary of the National Council of Social Services. He has also been appointed as a Fellow of (i) Singapore Academy of Law (ii) IPAS; (iii) the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and (iv) the Singapore Institute of Directors. Gregory remembers with fondness and gratitude his formative years as an undergraduate serving actively as two-time Eusoff Hall President from 1989/1990 and 1990/1991 together with an outstanding batch of Eusoffian residents. |

Colin joined the insurance industry in 1992, the year he graduated from the National University of Singapore. A graduate of Eusoff Hall, he served in various leadership positions of committees and later served as the Vice President of the Hall's Alumni in 1993. Today, Colin is a Senior Executive Director (Financial Services) of Great Eastern Financial Advisers. Colin is also keen believer of constant upgrading and has achieved the designations of Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU) and the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) in 2001. He has served as Chairman from 2001 to 2008 and as CEO of Advisors' Clique from 2001 to 2007. In 2009, he was appointed the 1st Executive Director, Financial Services and in 2011, he was appointed the 1st and currently only Senior Executive Director, Financial Services in Great Eastern Life, an appointment that recognizes his team building efforts. In 2011, Colin's consistent quest to lead by example qualified him for the GEL Entre-planner award which recognizes Great Eastern Life's top 1% of producers. He has also achieved the MDRT 18 times spanning 1993 to 2012, and has fulfilled his dream of becoming a MDRT Life Member. By 2009, he achieved the Honours Roll with 15 times MDRT qualification and last year he achieved the coveted Court of the Table which is an award given for qualifying the MDRT 3 times within a single year. A strong advocate of the culture of group building, Colin currently partners 9 other direct Managers and Executive Managers in their Agency Building Quest and 45 other indirect Managers and Executive Managers in Advisors' Clique to grow their teams. In recognition of his leadership and contributions to agency building, Colin was awarded the Centennial award, his greatest recognition and achievement yet. |

She was the Group CEO of Auric Pacific Group, listed on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange. Auric Pacific Group Limited ("APGL") is an investment holding company with diverse business interests ranging from distribution of fast moving consumer food, food manufacturing and retailing, management of restaurant and food court operations to other strategic investments including fund investment from May 2012 to April 2015. Headquartered in Singapore, Group's business operations are located in various countries throughout Asia including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and China. Prior to this, Ms Saw was the President and CEO of SMRT Corporation Ltd, between December, 2002 to January, 2012, Singapore's first multi-modal public transport service provider. Since taking the helm, she has changed the way public transport is managed and delivered in Singapore. She leads her team in efforts to enhance the travel experience - introducing commuter-centric initiatives and adding lifestyle conveniences at stations - to make public transport a choice mode of travel for all. She is also instrumental in broadening SMRT's geographical footprint as well as establishing SMRT's presence overseas with the opening of offices in the Middle East and China which serve as springboards to opportunities in those regions. For the period of 1984 to 2002, Ms Saw was with DFS Group, an international duty free and downtown retailer, reknown for retailing large range of fashion brands. Her roles at DFS Group ranged from operations to merchanding responsibility in Singapore, Hong Kong and China. From 1998, she was the Regional President in charge of businesses in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia for DFS Venture Singapore. |

Dr Mark Emmanuel was a Resident Fellow in Eusoff Hall from 2007 to 2011. He was an assistant professor in the History Department from 2006-2011. While at Eusoff, he oversaw the 50th anniversary celebrations and the publication of the 50th anniversary book. He was actively involved in student activities and oversaw Eusoff Expeditions, External Relations, and the Eusoff Volunteer Corp (EVC) among other activities. Under his guidance, both Expeditions and EVC won several NUS Student Achievement Awards, and EVC was also shortlisted for the President of Singapore's Social Service Award in 2009. Dr Emmanuel presently works in the Ministry of Defence. |

An HR practitioner for more than 30 years, Kuan Thye has been with FedEx Express for close to 20 years and recently returned from overseas assignments. While based in Shanghai from 2006, she led a team of 130 HR professionals supporting about 9000 employees in FedEx Express China. She is now the FedEx Express Asia Pacific Human Resources Regional Lead focusing on post-acquisition planning and implementation. A strong believer in continuous learning and development, she is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration at the City University of Hong Kong. Another NUS and Eusoff Hall alumni who cares about giving back to alma mater, she is serving at the NUS Society (NUSS) on its Management Committee and sub-committees as well as beginning to serve as mentor as part of the Inaugural Eusoff Alumni Mentorship Program. |

POSITIONS HELD IN OTHER ORGANISATIONS: 1) Member, a) "Property Maintenance Sub-Committee" & b) "Planning & Special Projects Sub-Committee" at The Tanglin Club Raymond first came to Singapore to study in NUS in 1989 and stayed at Eusoff Hall for 6 years; 1989 - 1995. His early years in Singapore was mainly centred around Hall and University activities in between his course work. Eusoff Hall mates were his "family" members as he was a foreign student in a place completely new to him. Upon graduating from Architectural school in 1995, he worked in Singapore and got his licence to practice in 2000. As a bachelor, and with a belief that "knowledge is power", he indulged in work and post-graduate coursework to attain his Masters degrees in 2000 and 2003 from NUS, both in fields related to the Construction Industry. After 10years and having completed over a hundred projects, he applied to be certified by SCDF as a Fire Safety Inspector and was appointed in 2011. Raymond found his soulmate from NUS during his second Masters' degree stint. They both have four children; a son followed by three daughters. On weekends, he spends all his time with the family. Aside from professional and personal activities, Raymond has been serving in the grassroots, in Goldhill NC and Pek Kio under Mr Lui Tuck Yew since 2009 (up to his resignation) and currently under Mr Melvin Yong. He finds it delightful learning from people at the ground from all walks of life. It actually makes him happy to help others and see a smile on their faces when he raises funds for charity and has been chairing Charity Golf Tournament Organizing committees for more than 10 years. With his children fast growing up and requiring less attention from him, he expects to serve in more organizations and indulge in more meaningful activities to serve the needy persons in society. He mediates about 5 cases a year and expects to be more active in the field of Mediation going forward. |

Sujono was born in Indonesia, studied in Singapore and got married in China as he always uses this to tell people how fortunate he is to experience different cultures and life. He studied in National University of Singapore from 1989 to 1992 graduated with Bachelor of Science . He stayed in Eusoff Hall throughout that 3 years. It was home to him and made many long lasting friendship till today. He went to China in 1993 and stayed there for 29 years. He experienced and benefited from the fastest economy growing era of China. He set up his own business in the late 90s and had been growing with the surging economy of China. He is now investing in start ups and help companies do sourcing in China. Sujono was certified open water Scuba Diving in NUS days and did couples of diving trips then. He only picked up diving 25 years later when it became popular in China. Diving makes him more aware of environmental damages due to pollution to the sea and global warming. |

Sanjay Danani graduated from NUS School of Business with Merit in 1994. He resided at Eusoff Hall during his first year at NUS and represented the hall in football and sepak takraw. He met his kind and beautiful wife of 26 years at NUS and is a proud father of 3 children - never a dull or quiet moment at home. He started his career with the Public Service Commission at the Ministry of Environment and subsequently the Ministry of Education. Having always had a keen interest in sports and recreation, in 1998 he pursued his ambition to start a sports events company with another fellow graduate from NUS School of Business. The company founded several nationwide sports events of which a few are still being carried out at the grassroots level today. After 4 years, in 2002, Sanjay decided to expand commercially and converted the company into a below-the-line advertising agency. In 2006, Sanjay and his business partner revolutionalised sports and recreation in Singapore by creating a home-grown brand called The Cage and building multiple sports facilities under that brand. Today it has founded Singapore's first indoor football facility of 6000sqm that caters to an average of 55,000 users per month. From the early days, the company believed in the mobile and web revolution that was coming and stayed ahead by being the first adopters of technology with an in-house booking system integrated with ERP and CRM features. The company has always been an early adopter of fintech on both desktop and mobile platforms. In 2008 The Cage was given the Spirit Of Enterprise Award for its efforts in the local SME scene. In 2012, The Cage built another first - Singapore's Largest Sports Park in Bukit Timah of 90,000 sqm in size. It operates and manages a sports park comprising 4 large football fields, 1 cricket field, 3 indoor 5-aside pitches, and 3 indoor cricket nets that cater to 48,000 users per month. . Simon is a Director with a local travel management company Global Travel Pte Ltd and leads the Business Events team. He also oversees operations for several key companies in Southeast Asia, including a sister company in Bangkok Thailand, a Professional Conference Organizer (PCO) in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and an Event Management & Production company in Singapore. Throughout his extensive career, Simon has held significant leadership positions across operations, sales, and marketing in airlines, land transport, and travel organizations in Singapore. His experience extends beyond the corporate world, having spent two years teaching, coaching, and mentoring at Nanyang Polytechnic, where he honed his leadership and development skills. A passionate golfer, Simon is a member of the Singapore Professional Golfers' Association and a certified professional golf coach with Golf Performance 360, holding both a SportsSG Level 1 Coaching accreditation and a "Mind Factor" certification.
